Arun Kumar, President

Arun is responsible for operations and business development.  Arun collaborates with other members of the staff to ensure that clients receive a very personal and high quality in-home care. He reaches out to potential partners such as Non-Profit Councils on Aging, Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Centers, Elder Attorneys and Geriatric Care Managers to offer our quality live-in and hourly home care services.  His years of experience as a business manager and customer service manager in the service industry gives Arun the skills necessary to effectively deliver service of the highest quality. Arun’s personal experience with his grand father, who was rendered immovable by a stroke and an aging aunt rendered immovable by a back injury, caused him to seek out better solutions for elder care. Arun is happy that Home Care Assistance of The Woodlands is able to make a difference in the lives of elders across North Houston and the Montgomery county area.

Hilary Duplantis – Administrator

Hilary is the agency administrator with responsibility for the recruitment, hiring, staffing, scheduling, follow-up and all related aspects of caregiver management.  Hilary and Gwenn discuss each client’s particular situation – health status, schedule, geography, special needs and requests – and collaborate to identify the ideal caregiver for that specific client. Hilary is a Gerontology professional and has a Master of Arts in Gerontology with a concentration in Program Administration from the University of Louisiana.  She has studied a variety of aspects pertaining to the process of aging and written a thesis titled Pet Therapy, Dementia, and Perceptions of Client Stimulation amongst Caregiver Populations.  She has been a member of the Sigma Phi Omega Gerontology Honor Society for academic excellence since January of 2007.  Hilary has a passion for serving the elderly and grew up volunteering at long-term institutions and making friendly visits to those who needed companionship.

Gwenn Lasswell, RN  – Client Services Manager

Gwenn Lasswell is responsible for client relations, intake assessments and client care coordination. Gwenn is a registered nurse with 26 years experience in acute care nursing and home health care.  As a home health care professional she has worked as a home nurse, supervisor, trainer and nurse educator.  In addition, Gwenn has significant experience  as a patient management nurse and as a medical quality management coordinator in both the health insurance field and acute care hospital. As a family member, Gwenn had spent many years caring for her parents and her husband’s parents at her home.
